A two-volume collection of essays exploring amipotence has been published by SacraSage Press. The first volume includes essays in support and essays in criticism of amipotence. The second volume features essays expanding or applying amipotence.
Thomas Jay Oord coined the word “amipotence,” and it is featured in several of his books. By it, Oord means that God is not omnipotent but expresses the power of uncontrolling love. See especially his book, The Death of Omnipotence and Birth of Amipotence.
Oord will write responses to each essay in the two Amipotence volumes and post them on social media in 2025.
Dr. Oord would like to thank the contributors to these two volumes. He’d also like to thank editors Chris Baker, Brandon Brown, Steve Fountain, Fran Stedman, Melissa Owens Stewart, Deanna Young, and Travis Young.
