JULY 8th – JULY 12th, 2024

Held at the beautiful Grand Targhee Resort in the Grand Teton mountains of Wyoming, ORTCON24 is an in-person conference exploring topics in Open and Relational Theology. 

ORTCON24 brings together scholars, leaders, pastors, and activists.  The conference provides workshops, lectures, and social activities to deepen relationships and present new ways of imagining God and the universe.

Thomas Jay Oord

SPEAKER

Thomas Jay Oord is a theologian, philosopher, and multidisciplinary scholar. Oord directs the doctoral program in Open and Relational Theology at Northwind Theological Seminary and the Center for Open and Relational Theology. The author or editor of 30+ books, Oord speaks around the world.

Adam Clark

SPEAKER

Adam Clark is Associate Professor of Theology at Xavier University. His courses on Black Theology, Jesus and Power, Faith and Justice and Religion and Hip Hop contribute to the Jesuit practice of educating students in the service of faith and the promotion of justice.

Sheri D. Kling

SPEAKER

Sheri D. Kling is the director of Process & Faith and interim minister of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bradenton, FL. She is a theologian, songwriter, and spiritual mentor. Sheri serves as a faculty member of the Haden Institute, adjunct faculty with Claremont School of Theology, and is the author of A Process Spirituality.

Wm. Curtis Holtzen

SPEAKER

Wm. Curtis Holtzen (DTh, University of South Africa) is a professor of philosophy and theology at Hope International University. He is the author of The God Who Trusts and has also authored chapters on pop culture topics such as The Simpsons, The Peanuts, and Bruce Almighty.

Jeff Wells

SPEAKER

Jeff Wells is the lead pastor of the Church of the Village, a progressive, radically inclusive, and anti-racist community in Manhattan. Jeff is a co-convenor of the Alliance for Ecological Civilization. With John B. Cobb Jr., he co-authored Is International Cooperation Possible? A Bold Appeal for a Living Earth (2022).

Deanna Young

Deanna Young is Executive Pastor at Wildwood United Methodist Church in Magnolia, Texas. She's the author of Unblaming God: Interpreting the Old Testament through the Lens of Jesus Christ, which was her doctoral dissertation in Open and Relational Theology at Northwind Theological Seminary.

Russ Dean

SPEAKER

Russ Dean is co-pastor (with Amy Jacks Dean) of Park Road Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. He's the author of The Power of the God Who Can't: God Always Does Everything God Can Do.

Janna Gonwa

Janna Gonwa is Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Theology at Gannon, University.

LOCATION

The beautiful Grand Targhee Resort is located in the Teton Mountains of Wyoming and within an hour of Yellowstone and Teton national parks. Opportunites to visit the national parks are available during ORTCON, but we encourage coming early to the area or staying a few days after.

Tripp Fuller

Tripp Fuller is the author of several books and the founder and host of the Homebrewed Christianity podcast.Tripp Fuller recently completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Theology & Science at the University of Edinburgh. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy, Religion, and Theology at Claremont Graduate University.

Sarah Lane Ritchie

SPEAKER

Sarah Lane Ritchie is a scholar in Theology and Science. She is the former Lecturer in Theology & Science at the University of Edinburgh and author of Divine Action and the Human Mind.

Jonathan Foster

SPEAKER

Jonathan Foster is a husband, dad, writer, and former church planter who exegetes culture from a mimetic theory and open and relational framework. He's the partner of one and the father of three.

Mason Mennenga

SPEAKER

Mason Mennenga (he/him/his) is an aspiring theologian, podcast, YouTuber, and the Internet's youth pastor. He received his Master of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary and Master of Arts in Theology at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities.

Teri Ditslear

SPEAKER

Teri Ditslear is the pastor of Roots of Life, a Lutheran Community in the ELCA denomination. She's a mission developer and outdoor enthusiast. She received a Masters degree from Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago and is pursuing her doctoral degree at Northwind Theological Seminary.

Shaleen Kendrick

SPEAKER

Shaleen Kendrick is a mystic, bi-vocational theologian, and corporate culture coach. In her doctoral work and executive coaching, Kendrick guides individuals and organizations toward uniting their three centers of intelligence.

The conference concludes after breakfast on Friday afternoon.
